WHITE EXTREMESIST GROUPS, ORGANIZATIONS & HATE CRIMES

I. Course Description
This is the most comprehensive course in the training program that addresses adult and juvenile white supremacist, neo-Nazi and extremist gangs, groups and organizations in the United States. Special emphasis in given to groups in California.

II. Course Topics Covered
Gang dynamics, cause and effect factors for entry into gangs, white supremacist and domestic extremist organizations; identification and classification of adult and juvenile groups and gangs; political ideology, National Socialism, the Christian Identity Movement and relevant pseudo-religious ideology; skinhead and WARskin and all Aryan Movements are thoroughly discussed and explained. Hate crimes and extremist trends are thoroughly explained. Emphasis is placed on procedures for gathering intelligence and evidence needed to classify, write reports and petitions, investigate members and hate crimes, or counsel at-risk youth.

This course is instructed by an experienced street gang investigator and expert witness who has actively investigated and researched white supremacist and extremist groups.

This course is supported by excellent contemporary handout materials and videos.

II. Performance Objectives

  1. Accurately identify and classify juvenile and adult gang/group members according to specific legal criteria. Be able to articulate membership in writing and orally within a courtroom setting.
  2. Understand basic cause and effect factors for assimilation into white supremacist or domestic extremist organizations. Be able to identify various stages of gang/group development.
  3. Understand basic white supremacist philosophy and political/religious ideology to include: National Socialism, separatism, Aryan homeland, Christian Identity, Ku Klux Klan, White Aryan Resistance and militiaism.
  4. Be able to identify major state and national white supremacist, Aryan, separatist, domestic extremist and militia movements. (KKK, Aryan Nations, Posse Comitatus, Christian Identity, White Aryan Resistance, WARskins, militias.)
  5. Be able to gather intelligence through interviews and evidence collection sufficient to investigate hate crimes, write petitions and crime reports for successful prosecution of active suspects, or be involved in diversion programs to counsel at-risk youth.
