Dr. Annette Ermshar has been a clinical psychologist for ten years, with added specialization in forensic psychology, psychological evaluations, neuropsychology, and clinical/diagnostic psychological assessment and evaluation. Dr. Ermshar is a Board Certified Diplomat in Forensic Psychology with the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP), and a Fellow of the American Academy of Forensic Psychology. She conducted her postdoctoral fellowship in forensic psychology at
Patton State Hospital (CA). She received her Master’s degree in Clinical Psychopharmacology. Dr. Ermshar is an active member of the medical staff at both Las Encinitas Hospital and Patton State Hospital. She is a core faculty member at Alliant International University, California School of Forensic Studies. She is in private practice with Arroyos Psychological Associates, Inc.
Dr. Ermshar is currently on the Panel of Medical Experts for California Superior and Juvenile Courts, and is a retained forensic expert witness in numerous court cases within Federal and California Superior and Juvenile Superior Courts. Her areas of expertise include addressing legal questions pertinent to mental disability, competency, child and adolescent development, psycho diagnostic issues, educational issue, neuropsychological functioning, cognitive/intellectual ability, psychological/emotional functioning, personality testing, and various criminal and civil forensic evaluations. In addition, Dr. Ermshar also provides litigation consultation and specialized forensic services to attorneys, judges and other legal experts regarding various psycho legal issues, including the evaluation of psychological work products, and consults on substance abuse/addiction, dual diagnosis with co-morbid psychiatric conditions, chronic mental illnesses. She also has direct experience with alternative sentencing by providing forensic assessment and therapeutic expertise.
